Is your backyard green enough?

Check your yard! Is it green? You may think so but most of us in The Big Apple don't have access to the luxuries of clean air or STREETS at that.

This story hit especially close to home because it is being piloted in NYC, and one of the co-founders, Cassie Flyn, is a friend of a friend - who woulda thunk it? (Green neighbors, share your story at info@biomeandyou.com and let your voice be heard! )

If you're wondering what you can do to make a difference, you can share your project idea with ioby.org (pronounced eye-OH-be) which stands for "in our backyards." IOBY is a an environmental non-profit in New York City that supports local environmental projects ranging from community gardens to green roofs -- allowing you the opportunity to donate your time and/or money to a project in your community.
